this trip, THIS trip was a trip that I will always remember. The love of my life and I drove through 10 states and stopped in 5 major cities along the the way as we discovered ourselves and more of our home nation. First stop was Branson, Missouri where we found familial love and advice and a show town that never misses a beat. Memphis, Tennessee was a quieter city than we expected but we found the studio that began it all for Elvis and Johnny Cash. The Society for Photographic Education conference in New Orleans was our farthest destination and the middle of our trip. This city expanded our ideas of what the South is and that colorful southern hospitality never failed to impress us. Montgomery, Alabama housed a family member of mine who I haven't seen in 10 years. Though the heat was blistering and time was short, seeing him was meaningful beyond words. Nashville, Tennessee welcomed us with it's bright lights, musical scenes, and our spanish hosts. The road to the south and back instilled with us freedom and youth. When we left our home, our eyes were opened and reawakened to what life has to offer. The open road gave us wings, and we flew.
